About “Death of a Scriptwriter”

Hamish Macbeth, Scotland's one-man village police force, investigates the deaths of an actress and a television writer. Patricia Martyn-Broyd, an elderly mystery writer settled in Lochdubh, is thrilled her old novel will be produced for television, but grows enraged when her aristocratic detective is reimagined as a pot-smoking hippie, and then the lead actress and scriptwriter are found dead.
