About “Death of a Dentist”
As the small village of Lochdubh has no dentist, locals travel to Frederick Gilchrist's dental surgery in nearby Braikie. A blinding toothache convinces constable Hamish Macbeth to try Gilchrist, but upon arriving he finds the dentist dead on the floor, a victim of nicotine poisoning, and since the deceased was a non-smoker, Hamish must put his own toothache aside to find the killer.
