A girl named Alison is an actor in a school play with her friend Ryan. One day, she rides her new bike to school for rehearsal when she accidentally runs over and kills a cat. At first, she feels bad but quickly moves on. However, she later discovers that the cat seems to have nine lives. This 1998 novel by R. L. Stine follows Alison as she deals with the strange and unsettling situation.
