About “Inherit the Stars”
The man on the moon was dead. They called him Charlie. He had big eyes, abundant body hair, and fairly long nostrils. His skeletal body was found clad in a bright red spacesuit, hidden in a rocky grave. Scientists discovered that his corpse was 50,000 years old, which meant he had lived long before humans could have existed. They did not know who he was, how he got to the moon, or what caused his death. The discovery raised many questions and challenged the understanding of human history and space exploration. The story is from a 1977 novel by James P. Hogan.
