About “Federalist No. 4”
Federalist No. 4, titled "The Same Subject Continued: Concerning Dangers from Foreign Force and Influence," is a political essay by John Jay. It is the fourth of The Federalist Papers and was first published in The Independent Journal on November 7, 1787. Like all the essays, it was written under the pseudonym Publius. This essay is the third in a series of four by Jay on protecting the United States from foreign influence and military threats.
