About “The Wizard of the Emerald City”
The Wizard of the Emerald City is a 1939 children's novel written by Russian author Alexander Melentyevich Volkov. It is a liberal translation of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Baum's name is sometimes credited in the book. Most character names are changed, some elements from Baum's work are omitted, and some new elements are introduced.
