The Eyes of the Overworld is a picaresque fantasy novel by Jack Vance, published in 1966. It is the second book in the Dying Earth series, set in a world where the Sun is dying and magic and technology coexist. The story follows Cugel the Clever, an anti-hero who is a crafty scoundrel but occasionally shows good values. Cugel is caught stealing from a wizard, who forces him to travel to a distant realm to find a rare magical jewel. The novel is composed of linked episodic stories.
