About “The Chronicles of Pern”

A 1993 short story collection by Anne McCaffrey bringing to life events that shaped the early days of Pernese history, the first-ever Pern short-story collection. The stories generally concern the relocation and reorganization of the southern colony in response to the "First Pass" of the "Red Star," an erratic planet that periodically brings falling thread; the twelfth Dragonriders of Pern book, it shares its early setting only with the previously published Dragonsdawn (1988).
