About “Nerilka's Story”

Nerilka, determined to help others despite her family's refusal to share Fort Hold's resources, packed medicines and supplies and left to aid her people. Her journey led her to Ruatha Hold, where Lord Alessan was struggling to inoculate against a deadly plague. Nerilka had given up on marriage and a home of her own, finding fulfillment in being useful. The Healers and Alessan appreciated her help, and she found happiness in her work. She did not realize that her path would change her life forever. The novel was published in 1985 by Anne McCaffrey.
