Dragonsdawn is a science fiction novel by Anne McCaffrey, the ninth book in the Dragonriders of Pern series. It was published in 1988 by Del Rey in the United States and by Bantam in the United Kingdom. Though it is the ninth book in the series, it is set before the events of the other novels. The UK editions have used different subtitles, including Dragonsdawn: The First Chronicles of the Colony of Pern and Dragonsdawn: The Earliest Legend of Pern.
