About “Hendon's first case”
This is the twenty-first book in a long-running mystery series featuring Dr. Launcelot Priestley. A famous research chemist, Bernard Threlfall, is found dead in his laboratory, which has been ransacked. He was about to change his will, giving his relatives possible motives for his death. The case presents a challenge for two detectives: Inspector Waghorn, a new graduate from Hendon, and Superintendent Hanslet, who follows a more traditional style. In the end, both detectives rely on the brilliance of Professor Priestley to uncover the truth.
