About “Blackthorn House”

This is the forty-eighth book in a long-running mystery series featuring Dr. Lancelot Priestley. The story begins when Kenneth Winslow's nephew, Noel Yewdale, buys a car from his uncle. Noel is supposed to transport a large, locked chest in the car. However, the police seize the vehicle, believing it to be stolen. Without the car, Noel is unable to complete his task. The police help him move the chest from the garage, but when they open it, they discover his uncle's body inside. The chest smells bad, and the police are baffled. Superintendent Waghorn attempts to solve the case but may need Dr. Priestley's help to uncover the truth. The novel is a detective story written by John Rhode.
