About “Death at Low Tide”

Death at Low Tide is a 1938 detective novel written by Cecil Street under the pen name Miles Burton. It is the seventeenth book in a series featuring the amateur detective Desmond Merrion and Inspector Arnold of Scotland Yard. The novel received praise from the Times Literary Supplement, which called it "probably the best work" of an author with many previous successes. However, The Observer noted that Burton remained true to the style of the Crofts school, avoiding stylistic development. The book is part of a long-running series of detective stories.
