About “Deryni Rising”
Deryni Rising is a historical fantasy novel written by American author Katherine Kurtz. It was first published in August 1970 by Ballantine Books as the nineteenth book in the Ballantine Adult Fantasy series. The novel was reprinted multiple times over the next three decades. In 2004, a revised and updated edition was released by Ace Books. It was Kurtz's first Deryni novel, though later works functioned as prequels, covering events that took place before the story of Deryni Rising.
