About “The celts”
The Celts were lovers of gold, wine, and war, but left no written records, so much of what is known about them comes from their enemies, the Romans, and from the weapons and ornaments found with their dead. They were a sophisticated people who ruled much of Europe for 500 years. Despite being called "barbarians," they created exquisite jewelry and metalwork. Eventually pushed to the edges of the known world, they later influenced the art of Celtic Christianity.
