Clayhanger Trilogy Books in Order
The Clayhanger Trilogy comprises three novels by Arnold Bennett — Clayhanger (1910), Hilda Lessways (1911), and These Twain (1916) — set in the fictionalized "Five Towns" (Staffordshire Potteries), following the lives and marriage of Edwin Clayhanger and Hilda Lessways. A fourth related novel, The Roll-Call (1918), follows Hilda's son George Cannon and is sometimes grouped with the trilogy as "the Clayhanger family" novels but is not part of the trilogy proper.
