About “Sos the rope”

Wandering tribes of primitive humans meet, fight, love, and die. When tribes encounter each other, individuals fight in a Battle Circle. The loser joins the victorious tribe. Each warrior is named after their weapon. Sol the Sword is defeated by Sol of All Weapons and loses his tribe, name, and weapon. He is re-named Sos the Rope and joins Sol of All Weapons to build something greater than a world of Battle Circles. This early work by Piers Anthony, author of the Xanth series, was nominated for the Hugo Award.
