In 1942, during World War II, a U.S.-led naval task force from the twenty-first century appears due to a failed military experiment. This force includes advanced warships equipped with nuclear warheads, rocket-propelled grenades, AK-47s, and computer-guided missiles. The sudden arrival of these high-tech weapons changes the course of the war, as major powers scramble to use them. The Allied victory in 1945 and the collapse of communism are known, but this is a different timeline. Stalin and Hitler adjust their strategies, leading to a Russian-German ceasefire and a Nazi assault on England. Japan invades Australia and plans to seize Hawaii. In the United States, the newcomers from the future cause both excitement and fear, leading to violence. World leaders face extreme choices as the world teeters on the edge of destruction.
