Thomas Dixon Jr.

Thomas Frederick Dixon Jr. was a Southern Baptist minister, playwright, lecturer, North Carolina state legislator, lawyer, and author. He is known for using historical romance to portray Black people as inferior to whites and to celebrate the antebellum South. Although he opposed slavery, he supported racial segregation. Dixon also wrote against the dangers of socialism. He lived from 1864 to 1946.
