Robert Bloch was an American writer born in Chicago who corresponded with H. P. Lovecraft as a teenage Weird Tales reader and sold his first story to the magazine at seventeen. He won a 1959 Hugo Award and wrote the novel Psycho (1959), later filmed by Alfred Hitchcock, along with three Star Trek scripts and hundreds of stories.
