Marc Sumerak began his writing career in the late 1990s as co-creator of the online comic book site Abandoned Warehouse Press. While earning a BFA in Creative Writing at Bowling Green State University, he served as a Marvel Comics Editorial Intern. His first writing assignment was AVENGERS CASEBOOK 1999. He later joined the Marvel Comics staff as Assistant Editor on over 500 comic book publications, including AVENGERS, FANTASTIC FOUR, THOR, and IRON MAN. He also edited titles such as AGENT X, INHUMANS, and SENTINEL. Sumerak is known for his work on POWER PACK and the Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated FRANKLIN RICHARDS: SON OF A GENIUS (with Chris Eliopoulos). He created original series for Marvel, including GUARDIANS and MACHINE TEEN, whose character Holden Radcliffe appeared on AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. In 2011, he wrote the graphic novel ALL-GHOULS SCHOOL for IDW Publishing. He later contributed to video games, including MARVEL FUTURE FIGHT and MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: THE BLACK ORDER. He is currently writing MARVEL FUTURE REVOLUTION. Sumerak continues to write for major pop culture franchises, including STAR WARS, HARRY POTTER, FIREFLY, GHOSTBUSTERS, BACK TO THE FUTURE, and THE OFFICE. He also provides script critiques and mentors through Comics Experience and teaches the Graphic Narratives course at the Cleveland Institute of Art. He resides in Cleveland, OH.
