Kresley Cole is an American writer known for her historical and fantasy romance novels. She was a graduate student in English and a former world-ranked competitive athlete. While earning her Master's degree, she spent significant time researching in the library, which influenced her writing. Her first romance novel was published in 2003, and she has since written multiple bestsellers. Her work has been translated into more than eighteen languages and has appeared on the New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. In 2007, she won the Romance Writers of America RITA award for best paranormal for her novel A Hunger Like No Other. She became a #1 New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestseller in 2009 with Kiss of a Demon King, which also earned her a second RITA award in 2010. In 2011, Dreams of a Dark Warrior became her second #1 New York Times bestseller. Cole lives in Florida with her husband and many animals. She enjoys traveling, particularly to places like the rain forests of Central America and the Queensland area of Australia, and she draws inspiration from her experiences for her stories.
