J. W. Rinzler (1962-2021) was an American author and film executive who served as executive creative for 15 years at Lucasfilm. He wrote and directed an animated short, "Riddle of the Black Cat," shown at numerous film festivals including the Montreal World Film Festival. His adaptation of George Lucas's original rough draft became "The Star Wars" graphic novel, a #1 New York Times bestseller.
