Baroness Emma Magdolna Rozalia Maria Jozefa Borbala "Emmuska" Orczy de Orczi (1865-1947) was a Hungarian-born British novelist and playwright born in Tarnaors, Heves County, Hungary, daughter of composer Baron Felix Orczy and Countess Emma Wass. Her family settled in London in 1880. She studied at West London School of Art and Heatherley's School of Fine Art, married illustrator Montague MacLean Barstow in 1894, and published her first novel, The Emperor's Candlesticks, in 1899.
