Anthony Ryan was born in Scotland in 1970 and spent much of his adult life in London, where he worked in the British Civil Service for many years. He began writing full time after the success of his first novel, Blood Song, the first book in the Raven’s Shadow trilogy. Ryan holds a degree in history and has interests in art, science, and the pursuit of the perfect pint of real ale. He is a Scottish author known for his contributions to the fantasy and science fiction genres.
