Fabienne Nothomb, known as Amélie Nothomb, is a Belgian novelist writing in French, born on July 9, 1966, in Etterbeek. She has published a book every year since 1992, the year of her first novel, Hygiène de l'assassin. Her novels are consistently among the bestsellers and have been translated into several languages. She has received numerous literary awards, including the Prix Littéraire de la Vocation in 1993, the Grand Prix du Roman of the Académie Française in 1999, and the Prix Renaudot in 2021. She was granted the honorary title of Commander of the Order of the Crown, and King Philippe proposed that she be given the personal title of Baroness.
