About “Through the Looking-Glass”
Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871) is a children's novel by Lewis Carroll, also known as Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. It serves as a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and is often considered a mirror image of the first book. While it does not reference events from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, it shares similar themes and settings. The story begins indoors on a snowy night, six months after the first book, on November 4. It uses changes in time and spatial directions as plot devices and incorporates chess imagery. The narrative includes mirror themes such as opposites and time running backwards.
