Acorna's people, the Linyaari, are returning to their homeworld to reclaim it from the Khleevi. Aari, Acorna's lifemate, has embarked on a dangerous journey that leaves him missing. To find him, Acorna and her friends—Captain Becker, Mac, Nadhari, and RK—set out on a quest. Their journey leads them to crash-land on Makahomia, a jungle world home to the mysterious Temple Cats. An evil plan threatens the sacred felines, and Acorna joins a group of rebels to save them. Inside a hidden shrine, she uncovers a discovery that could either lead her to Aari or bring disaster.
